What is male infertility?
If a couple has failed to have a pregnancy after one year of frequent, unprotected sex without using any contraceptive drug, the couple should consult a doctor. It could be the male or female who is infertile.
When a woman is infertile, we can call it female infertility. When a man is infertile, we can call it male infertility. If both partners are not fertile, pregnancy cannot take place. An infertile male partner cannot make his female partner pregnant even after several attempts.
When we talk about male fertility, the health of sperm plays a major role in it. Several things can affect the health of sperm, and there are also other reasons for male infertility.

Types of male infertility
Male infertility is generally divided into two parts: obstructive and non-obstructive.
Non-obstructive infertility
So, in non-obstructive infertility, there is no obstruction that hinders the passage of sperm. If the health of sperm is poor—such as bad quality, low volume and low sperm count—infertility may take place.
If testicles are not producing sperm properly, fertility may take place. Male testicles are like two factories that constantly produce sperm.
Obstructive infertility
If there is any obstruction in the way of sperm and because of it sperm cannot enter a woman’s uterus, this is called obstructive infertility.

What are male infertility symptoms?
The main symptom of infertility is the inability to impregnate a woman. Other symptoms can provide warning signs. These symptoms may include:

- pain in the testicles
- swelling in the testicles

- minimum semen during ejaculation
- a low sperm count
What are male infertility causes?
There are several health conditions that can be responsible for infertility in men. These health conditions may include:
- Medicines that harm sperm. There are several anti-sperm medicines that can harm sperm. People who consume neem as medicine may also have temporary infertility problems because neem has strong spermicidal agents.
- Infections. Scarring by infections could block the passage of sperm. Infections can also affect the production and quality of sperm.
- Ejaculation issues. Retrograde ejaculation is one such issue. In retrograde ejaculation, sperm flows backward instead of coming out of the penis. Erectile dysfunction can also cause ejaculation issues.
- Varicocele. In this condition, the vein that carries sperm from testicles becomes enlarged or swells.
- Tumors. The reproductive glands can also be affected by nonmalignant tumors and cancers. In some cases, surgery and radiation therapy can also cause infertility.
- Undescended testicles. An Undescended testicle is not in the sac of the scrotum but above it. During the development of a child in the uterus, if one or both testicles do not descend into the sac, this condition takes place.
- Hormonal imbalance. Hormonal imbalance can also affect one’s fertility.
- Others. Other reasons may include problems with sex postures, chromosome defects, celiac disease, obesity, diabetes and environmental pollutants.
